This lag is getting old
The lag before the event was bad enough. Now I'm getting full 5-10 second delays and displacement. Trying to play around with monk skills but can't even play with this lag. I see a war hit then I'm dead.
I have a 2.4ghz AMD, 1 gig ram, 256 MB vid card 550 mhz bus. I know its not my comp. High Speed dsl connection.
My guild has post-poned GvG till the lag stops.
Anet you cannot blame the lag and problems on the local ISPs forever. All my other programs and games work just fine. Its ONLY GW that has lag.
I stopped doing pve because it takes over a minute to load a town. No I'm not downloading any new files. This is happening at places I've already been to.

And yet, my computer sucks, but I'm experiencing no lag. It's only a little choppy in towns when it's crowded, but that's to be expected with my below average video card. Otherwise, lag-free.

No lag here either. Try doing this. Go to your command prompt and type in: ping www.yahoo.com
or google...if you like
it's the simplest way to find out if the lag is your side problem

Average ping time, measured in millisecond.
anywhere from 20 to 300ms is fine, means that the lag is Anet's problem.
anywhere from 300 and up is your problem, and don't complain.
ADD:
Oh yea...suggest to move this to the tech forum.

Well i will agree with opp.. i seem to be getting about 4 err 7's a day.. thinkin about completly reinstalling my os and guild wars.. that way i can be sure its a-nets fault.. lol
but seriously after all these updates i have found that corrupt data on your drive can cause an error seven message..
it happens mostly when your game loads a map and im sure it has happend to some. you will get to 100% loaded and then you will error 7..
So uninstall guild wars then reinstall then disk cleanup and total spyware scan and all that jazzz it mayyyy help ya out... keep defraged on a regular bassis

I agree with the poster entirely. My guild had to stop GvGing last night after our first game (which we won in 7 minutes). It was gutting really, rank 1800 or something (were about 800 at the time) korean guild who we could have annihalated beat us because half our team had latency of about 7000+
We decided to call it a day after that, very fustrating.

30ms avg time
I thought about putting this in tech problem but this is not just me. So I felt its something for everyone to discuss. Do appreciate the tips though.
Keep in mind I'm on the east coast USA. The servers on the west coast. Physical location has a lot to do with it.
Wish I knew GW's server address I would ping it.
Also GW is causing driver problems on my comp. If I run firefox and GW at the same time it will lock my comp. I can run firefox at the same time with any other program and that doesn't happen.

That can give misleading results. Even if it comes back fine and you still lag in Guild Wars it could still be your connection between you and Anet's servers.

Try living in Australia, the lag we get is terrible.
In other games, we Aussies/Kiwis get booted for having a high ping.
Your lucky you have a server in your country, we don't even have one in our hemisphere.
Live with it, we have to.

I live in the EU, i play on the US server, and if the lag was pretty bad those past few weeks, it's been worse since the start of the event..
having a server in your area doesn't help much, most of my guildmates are playing on the EU server and are laging as bad as I am.
we can blame the pve event for this this WE, but if it isn't solved before NF is released.. I'll forget the survivor title i want to give to my dervich-to-be

Hi, to the firefox probs. I run firefox + GW aswell and never have (had) a problem with them. I rather look elsewhere to find why they are crashing.
Hope it gets solved

On friday (first update), I have been lagging like crazy (teleporting, rubberbanding.. etc) and I err7 whenever I load into a map (old AND new).
But the lag and err7 got alot better today Not sure if it's my internet or GW's server load.

Sure, you lag too, but we are much worse. eg. In ab, I am finally playing when the game has been on for 20 secs.
When the game ends, I loose my party because I take too long to load.
Sure the WPE is making the lag alot worse, but the lag we aussies/kiwis have is nearly all of the time
And having a server in your area helps ALOT.

No I don't have to deal with it. There is nothing wrong with my comp when I run anything else and experience no lag on other online games. I know for a fact its not my connection with GW. In game I get anywhere from 500-700k transfer rate. The connection is good.
I can easily take my money to another game and enjoy the free subscription for the duration of GW existance.
I have reinstalled GW and I still have the same lag and device errors as before. Its not with just firefox. If I GW up in window mode and start or switch to another program it locks my comp. I can run multiple programs at one time with no problems as long as GW isn't up.
I'm not looking for a fix because there is nothing wrong on my side. I've done all the test and scans possible. Found nothing. At this point I'm very frustrated.
Uninstalled GW. Wiped all the files after unistall. Also wiped it out of my regestry before reinstalling just to make sure nothing is corrupt.
